Valerj Pobega is a fashion designer, creative director, and artist from Alghero, Italy. Pobega developed her signature use of fabric and garments as a canvas while attending art school and modeling for prestigious couture houses in Rome and Milan. Valerj debuted her Avant-garde conceptual collection in 2008 and continues to design, cut, sew, and hand-paint each piece in limited editions. Her work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, WWD, and Variety, among others. She has also created one-of-a-kind stage and screen garments for such icons as Madonna, Shirley Manson, Ozzy Osbourne, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga. The Los Angeles Museum of Art recently acquired two of Valerj’s hand-painted gowns for their permanent collection. Dancer: Charissa Kroeger.
